Diversity & Equality Policy

Ashorne Hill Management College values and embraces the benefits of equality and diversity, our success relies upon the broad range of strengths, skills and experience of our employees, customers and all other stakeholders.

Ashorne Hill is committed to providing a working environment where equality and diversity is promoted and valued, creating a culture of mutual respect and opportunity that will enhance our employees’ experience at work from recruitment and selection, through training and development, appraisal and promotion to retirement.

Every person working for Ashorne Hill has a personal responsibility for implementing and promoting these principles in their day-to-day dealings with customers, with each other and with partners. Inappropriate behaviour is not acceptable. Each employee is responsible for his/her own behaviour and for maintaining an environment in which discrimination, harassment and victimisation are regarded as unacceptable.

Any employee who is aware of, or actually witnesses any form of discriminatory behaviour has a responsibility to report them to their line manager and if this is not appropriate, another member of the senior management team, who will take appropriate action and inform the employee accordingly. The company is committed to ensure that anonymity in these matters will be assured at all times. All employees should make themselves aware of the company’s Grievance Procedure which can be found in the Employee Handbook. The management have a responsibility for communicating this policy to employees and investigating any complaints.

  • Building in legislative requirements and best practice (for example as set out in Codes of Practice from the Commission for Racial Equality on Race) to all our service delivery and employee policies and procedures and supporting these with appropriate training and guidance

PRINCIPLE

Ashorne Hill is committed to undertaking business responsibly, with integrity, honesty and understanding.

This commitment must be reflected in every aspect of our business conduct, including respect for human rights.

It is our policy to comply with all laws, rules and regulations governing human rights pertinent to the company. Any breach of this policy will be regarded as a serious matter and is likely to result in disciplinary action or dismissal. This policy applies to all employees of Ashorne Hill together with all suppliers of goods and services or any other persons / organisations acting on our behalf or engaging in business with us.

STATEMENT

Our key principles include:

  • We do not knowingly engage with or deal with any businesses involved in slavery, human trafficking, or other human rights abuses.
  • We do not tolerate forced labour or other involuntary labour. We will not confiscate personal documents of employees or force employees to make any payment in order to secure employment or to undertake work with us.
